LIFT PASSES INSURANCE AIRPORT AND TRAIN TRANSFERS CHILDCARE Most types of nappies, bottled baby food, wipes etc. available in the UK can be purchased locally. Please let us know if you would like us to get any supplies for when you arrive, by email at least a week in advance. Prices are more or less the same as in the UK. ADVANCE BOOKING SELF-DRIVERS We strongly advise, especially during the peak school holiday weeks, that you aim to arrive in the Tarentaise valley (i.e. beyond Chambery) by mid-day if at all possible. It might therefore be worth leaving the UK on Friday and stopping overnight before an early start; Reims, Troyes, Chalon-sur-Soane and Tournus are popular and have plenty of hotels of all types. Try www.expedia.co.uk for reservations. This will avoid the long queues that can form later in the afternoon. You might even get here early enough to get on the snow in the afternoon! The link below has more important information and
tips for drivers - traffic info, snow chains, freezing diesel fuel, etc. Follow the N90 from Moutiers to Bourg St Maurice. Do NOT be tempted by a sign to Les Granges before Bourg; you must go through the town and take the road to Les Arcs (right at the last roundabout by the supermarkets). On the way up the hill there is a sign to La Grange which should be ignored. ('Grange' means barn in French, hence there are numerous villages called 'Les Granges' and 'La Grange' all over France!) After the second 'hairpin bend' you will see a sign for 'Le Replatet'. Shortly afterwards is the funiculaire bridge over the road, a car park with bottle banks on the left and a sign for 'La Millerette'. Take the turning on the left (signposted to Les Granges) after the bottle banks and before the bend. You will pass under the funiculaire again, and La Grange d'Alice is the first building on the right hand side. Route to Arc 2000 Follow the N90 from Moutiers to Bourg St Maurice. You must go through the town and take the road to Les Arcs (right at the last roundabout by the supermarkets). Continue on the road until you reach a roundabout at Arc 1600. Arc 2000 is clearly signposted, you carry on in the same direction. After a further 10 kilometers you will arrive at the Pré St Espirit gateway, where there is a large free carpark linked by shuttle bus to the centre of Arc 2000. Godino's Loft is located within the Chalet des Neiges Arolles complex. Continue along the same road and you will pass
Arc 1950, then arrive at Arc 2000. If you arrive in daylight it’s a beautiful drive with views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding valleys. Once at the top you will see the MMV / Club Med building where the road forks. Turn RIGHT following the signs to Chalet des Neiges AROLLES around the front of the MMV / Club Med building. If you drive under a footbridge connecting two buildings you have gone past the turning! The Chalet des Neiges reception is near the end of the road–about 4-500 metres past the Club Med. The road goes around to the right. You’ll pass the Vival supermarket, the Crazy Fox, SkiSet shops and the Whistler pub. The main reception is a few doors along from that. If you have NOT pre-booked parking spaces at Godino's Loft or elsewhere in Arc 2000 you will only be allowed access to unload - parking is not allowed anywhere except in official carparks; the authorities are extremely strict about this, beware! You will then need to find a space in one of the several carparks just outside Arc 2000, or the free one at Pre St Espirit (free shutle bus).
