CHILDCARE
This season we have a team of child-carers available to look after babies and children of all ages, based in our own nursery/crèche room. They can also accompany/pick up children going to ski school, and arrange lunch and afternoon activities. If you haven't already booked our child care services, please let us know as soon as possible if you think you would like to use this service by following this link for more information and reservation form:
http://www.skiadventures.co.uk/bookchildcare.html

Most types of nappies, bottled baby food, wipes etc. available in the UK can be purchased locally. Please let us know if you would like us to get any supplies for when you arrive, by email at least a week in advance. Prices are more or less the same as in the UK.

ADVANCE BOOKING
Many guests have asked if they can book liftpasses, ski hire, lessons etc. in advance. In some cases prices may be lower if booked beforehand. We have compiled a list of the relevant web addresses on http://www.skiadventures.co.uk/liftpasses.html

SELF-DRIVERS
If you are driving to Les Granges from the UK (or in an airport hire car) you can find directions using the link below. Please give us a ring on 04 79 22 90 63 (this is the number to dial in France from an UK mobile phone; from outside France dial 0033 479 422 90 63) if you can safely, when you are en route between Albertville and Moutiers so we will have an idea when to expect you. Remember it is an offence to use a phone while driving in France as well!

We have 4 covered parking spaces outside the chalets which you are welcome to use free of charge (first come first served).

We strongly advise, especially during the peak school holiday weeks, that you aim to arrive in the Tarentaise valley (i.e. beyond Chambery) by mid-day if at all possible. It might therefore be worth leaving the UK on Friday and stopping overnight before an early start; Reims, Troyes, Chalon-sur-Soane and Tournus are popular and have plenty of hotels of all types. Try www.expedia.co.uk for reservations. This will avoid the long queues that can form later in the afternoon. You might even get here early enough to get on the snow in the afternoon!

The link below has more important information and tips for drivers - traffic info, snow chains, freezing diesel fuel, etc.

Route to Les Granges

Follow the N90 from Moutiers to Bourg St Maurice. Do NOT be tempted by a sign to Les Granges before Bourg; you must go through the town and take the road to Les Arcs (right at the last roundabout by the supermarkets).

On the way up the hill there is a sign to La Grange which should be ignored. ('Grange' means barn in French, hence there are numerous villages called 'Les Granges' and 'La Grange' all over France!)

After the second 'hairpin bend' you will see a sign for 'Le Replatet'. Shortly afterwards is the funiculaire bridge over the road, a car park with bottle banks on the left and a sign for 'La Millerette'. Take the turning on the left (signposted to Les Granges) after the bottle banks and before the bend. You will pass under the funiculaire again, and La Grange d'Alice is the first building on the right hand side about 150m further on, and Les Deux Tetês chalets are another 50m further on, also on the right.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE....
When you arrive at Les Granges you will find your chalet clearly marked with a Ski Adventures Sign. Your chalet hosts will be there to welcome you (whatever the time of day!) and help you unload your luggage. Refreshements appropriate to the time of day will be offered (but please note we can't provide lunch) and if your rooms are ready (normally from 15.00) you will be able to access them straight away. If the rooms aren't ready the chalet staff will have alloacted somewhere for you to change and store your luggage. If you arrive before 16.00 one of out staff will be available to take you to the lift pass office and ski hire shop at Arc 1600 and help you get ready to ski/board. Otherwise we'll take you at about 08.30 on the following Sunday morning, in time to get kitted out before ski school begins at 09.30 (normally). During the evening of your first night we will get you together for a short welcome meeting to explain the weeks programme and deal with any queries you may have.
