INSURANCE AIRPORT AND TRAIN TRANSFERS
CHILDCARE Most types of nappies, bottled baby food, wipes etc. available in the UK can be purchased locally. Please let us know if you would like us to get any supplies for when you arrive, by email at least a week in advance. Prices are more or less the same as in the UK. ADVANCE BOOKING SELF-DRIVERS We have 4 covered parking spaces outside the chalets which you are welcome to use free of charge (first come first served). We strongly advise, especially during the peak school holiday weeks, that you aim to arrive in the Tarentaise valley (i.e. beyond Chambery) by mid-day if at all possible. It might therefore be worth leaving the UK on Friday and stopping overnight before an early start; Reims, Troyes, Chalon-sur-Soane and Tournus are popular and have plenty of hotels of all types. Try www.expedia.co.uk for reservations. This will avoid the long queues that can form later in the afternoon. You might even get here early enough to get on the snow in the afternoon! The link below has more important information and
tips for drivers - traffic info, snow chains, freezing diesel fuel, etc. Follow the N90 from Moutiers to Bourg St Maurice. Do NOT be tempted by a sign to Les Granges before Bourg; you must go through the town and take the road to Les Arcs (right at the last roundabout by the supermarkets). On the way up the hill there is a sign to La Grange which should be ignored. ('Grange' means barn in French, hence there are numerous villages called 'Les Granges' and 'La Grange' all over France!) After the second 'hairpin bend' you will see a sign for 'Le Replatet'. Shortly afterwards is the funiculaire bridge over the road, a car park with bottle banks on the left and a sign for 'La Millerette'. Take the turning on the left (signposted to Les Granges) after the bottle banks and before the bend. You will pass under the funiculaire again, and La Grange d'Alice is the first building on the right hand side about 150m further on, and Les Deux Tetês chalets are another 50m further on, also on the right.
